The Book of Discipline charges the Department of Christian Education with responsibility for “Developing standards, preparing programs, offering classes, teaching Christian education, publishing material, training people for pastoral ministry and other church vocations” in accordance with the tradition and doctrine of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. At Allen Chapel AME Church, we offer Sunday School for all ages each Sunday beginning at 8:30 a.m. Our Sunday School Superintendent is William (Billy) Wilson.

Bereavement: Losing a family member is one of the most difficult and painful situation one can experience often requiring a solid support system of friends, other family members as well as the Church family.
One of the many duties of the bereavement ministry is to visit the home of the grieving family providing assistance with funeral program planning, preparing meals, and to help the grief stricken acclimate back into life's normal routines.
Homebound: Often called the ministry to the sick and shut-in. This ministry focuses on the visitation and fellowship with members who are unable to attend regular church services due to illness or other conditions.

Music & Christian Arts Ministry
The Music & Christian Arts Ministry is integral part of the worship experience. It encompasses all forms of art, including worship songs, dance and productions. It consist of people with not only a love for music, but a passion for worship in many expressions.
Allen Chapel Choir sings each Sunday and members of the MCAM put on productions at least twice a year.

African Methodist Episcopal Church created the Sons of Allen Men’s Fellowship to foster closer relationships between men of the church, to equip men of the church for meaningful service, to reach unchurched men, and to present positive role models for our youth.

The Women’s Missionary Society (WMS) of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC) is an international faith-based organization that serves as the primary outreach and service arm of the church.
At Allen Chapel, missionaries serve under the leadership of Kathryn Wilson and have worked tirelessly over the years, feeding the hungry, coming to the aid of those devastated by storms, Assisting with special needs for impoverished communities in Haiti, and adopting elderly and children in need of assistance.
The women also fellowship with local senior centers during the holidays.

The YPD is a component that falls under the direction of the Women's Missionary Society. It provides meaningful youth programs and opportunities for leadership experience in all areas of church life. YPD membership is open to all youth and young adults 2-26 years of age.
